Calvin E. Floyd graduated from NOVA Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Entrepreneurship. He is also a graduate of Blackwater Worldwide Executive Protection School.
Mr. Floyd has more than 45 years of combined Law Enforcement/United States Marine Corps security experience. He served as a Commander with the Florida State Police for more than 25 years and served as a Platoon Sergeant with the 4th Anglico U.S. Marines for more than 20 years. As a possessor of U.S. Military/Government secret clearance (required for this commission), Mr. Floyd served as a Nuclear Weapon Security Specialist aboard the USS Simon Lake, refitting the fleet ballistic missile submarines of the Atlantic Fleet Submarine Force with such success as to warrant a Letter of Citation.
Mr. Floyd was handpicked as Staff Non-Commission Officer in Charge by the Marine Corps for Operation Balt Top in 2003, which was a U.S.-led, Danish co-hosted invitational, multinational, and maritime, air and land-based exercise in the Baltic Region. He has earned several Medals of Commendation for exemplary service with the United States Marine Corps.
In addition, Mr. Floyd was handpicked by the Florida State Police to provide security for the visit of Pope John Paul II and President Ronald Reagan to Miami, Florida on September 8-12, 1987. He was also handpicked by the Florida State Police to provide security for the inaugural ceremony of Governor Lawton Chiles on January 8, 1991.
Also honored by his superiors for his dedication and exceptional leadership skills during his service in the Marine Corps, he was chosen for the color guard detail for the former First Lady Roslyn Carter’s visit aboard the USS Simon Lake, and for the color guard detail for the championship match between world-known tennis champions Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova.
